p>OpenAI, the artificial intelligence research organization founded by Elon Musk has trained an AI to play Minecraft nearly as well as humans. It only took 70 000 hours of binge-watching YouTube videos.

p>The blog post explains how researchers used "Video Pretraining" (VPT) to train a neural network to play Minecraft. This involved collecting more than 2,000 hours of data from real people playing Minecraft. It also included exact keypresses, mouse movements, and raw video.

p>The researchers then trained an inverse dynamic (IDM) which could predict the future actions of the IDM at every step of the videos. https://titanlauncher.org/ Finally, the "trained IDM" was shown 70,000 hours worth of Minecraft YouTube videos. The model was able to duplicate the actions of the videos, which included cutting down trees to collect logs and making logs into a crafting table.

p>That's not all the AI model could do. It was also able to perform other complicated tasks like swimming, hunting and eating. The AI could even do "pillar jumping" which involves keeping yourself in the air by continuously jumping and putting a block under your body.

p>Researchers were able to construct an "foundation model" from the AI's data and then fine-tune or learn new behaviours. The AI was discovered as being able to perform the first game-related skills, such as building wooden and stone tools, robbing chests, and even build shelters.

p>The more hours of data that are fed into the foundation model the more capable the AI was. Researchers even employed reinforcement learning to reward the AI for performing difficult tasks. The reward system was so effective that the model was able to successfully design an axe with diamonds. This task involves a variety of tasks.

p>This is an interesting application of machine learning that shows how games can be used to help computers learn. Perhaps the AI model could be incorporated into games to give players a more natural challenge akin to playing against human players.

p>The AI could also be improved on the gruelling boss battles that are part of Outriders Worldslayer's newest campaign. The new Outriders expansion is in many ways exactly what fans want. However, it also keeps some of the less popular aspects of the original game.
