p>Minecraft-makers cancel film inspired by game

p>Mojang, the Minecraft-maker has intervened to stop the production of a film in the game's block built world.

p>Birth of a Man's creators had launched a Kickstarter appeal for $600,000. https://servertracker.org/minecraft-servers/ (PS366,000) to help to finance the production.

p>But barely a day after the project had been started, it was pulled without explanation by the project's creator.

/p>

p>Mojang founder Markuss Persson later posted a message on Twitter to explain the reason why the company was shut down.

/p>

p>"We don't allow [half-a-million-dollar Kickstarter projects] based on our [intellectual property] without any deals in place," wrote Mr Persson, also known as Notch, in a tweet.

/p>

p>According to some, the message refers to the fact that Mojang and the filmmakers did not agree to use the same blocks items, items, and other elements used in the game. The film was set to be released on YouTube later in 2014.

/p>

p>A teaser trailer was uploaded on the Kickstarter project page. It showed the concept footage that blends live action with landscapes, creatures and weapons.

/p>

p>Brandon Laatsch, the director of the short film, said that he's been working on the idea for the idea of a Minecraft film for more than 12 years.

/p>

p>Since he and other people who were involved in the project were avid gamers, he was hopeful that the finished film will be superior to other films that are based on well-known games he said.

/p>

p>In the teaser clip, he claimed that Minecraft was the ideal video game for adapting to a movie.

/p>

p>"The reason it doesn't have characters, it doesn∏t have stories, which I find an enormous advantage, as we can write our own story."

/p>

p>Mr Laatsch has not yet made a statement on the reason for the project's demise or whether it will be revived once Mojang has negotiated to license its intellectual property.
