p>The mother of the Surrey boy who was murdered by an online gamer says that the story of her son will help other players be more secure online.

p>Lewis Daynes killed Breck Bednar after luring him to Grays, Essex by the 19-year-old.

p>Lorin LaFave? said: "I would like Breck's story to prove that there really is evil out there. Not everyone.
/p>
p>"But it only takes one evil person to cause this kind of damage."
/p>
p>Lewis Daynes admitted murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
/p>
p>Lorin Lorin, an Caterham resident, says that Breck and his companions used to spend their evenings on Daynes server playing war games.
/p>
p>"When I would walk by his room or go into his bedroom, I could hear how fascinating it was. I could also understand why they were socializing this way."
/p>
p>She started to get worried about the fact that Daynes was exerting a greater influence over her son and that his personality was beginning to change.
/p>
p>"Breck was telling me that Daynes didn't think that he needed to leave his computer. Daynes did not believe he should be doing chores. Daynes did not believe he should be required to be involved in family activities.
/p>
p>Lorin took her son's computer and reported her concerns to police.

p>'Manipulative behaviour'

p>"I explained to them about Daynes manipulative behavior and that I believed he was grooming Breck. I said, "I know there's a problem because he's changing Breck∏s behavior and beliefs."
/p>
p>She didn't even know that Breck, an older teenager who was a senior, had given Breck a cell phone so they could keep in contact.
/p>
p>She claims he would inform Breck about lucrative opportunities in business, promising in one email that they would collaborate and make millions of pounds.
/p>
p>Lorin believes that the boys were impressed by the fake online persona Daynes had created for himself.
/p>
p>"For some reason Breck wanted to believe in it. He wanted to be with someone with such influence as well as such wealth and experience. He was a mentor, I think. They looked at him with admiration."
/p>
p>Daynes informed Breck that they must meet face to face to discuss business. Daynes booked a taxi to take Breck to his home. It was there that Breck was killed.
/p>
p>To promote responsible technology use, the family established The Breck Bednar Memorial Foundation.
/p>
p>Their slogan is Play Virtual Live Real.
/p>
p>"The internet is a great tool, but you can't play with your friends online. Live in the real world. Only make time to meet people that you have met in person. Breck did not live the real life. Because he believed in the lies of an evil person his reality was death."

p>She knows this is a message young people hear regularly - Breck had an internet safety course just a month before he was murdered but she wants to ensure they don't overlook it.
/p>
p>"If Breck were here he would be saying, 'Guys I don't believe it either, but there are dangerous people out there'. It cost him his life.
/p>

p>She wants young people to imagine the safety message comes from Breck himself.
/p>
p>"What did the man say to Daynes when he was being slammed by Daynes?" https://datchley.name/ Did you think, "Wow, mom was right?" Did him think, "Wow, mum was right!" What was going through his head? Since at that point it was too late."

p>Ms. LaFave? wants the government to invest more money in this area so every parent can feel secure that an investigation will be conducted when they submit online concerns.

p>Daynes was scheduled to be tried for murder, but admitted the offence at the last minute. He will serve at least 25 years in prison.

p>The Independent Police Complaints Commission has been referred to the matter by the Essex and Surrey Police.
/p>
p>They will try to determine if a force could have done anything differently.
