p>With more than 1,000 unique songs, Runescape currently holds the world record for having the most original music in a single game. Among them, there are certain to be some standouts.

/p>

p>The game's original principal theme is Scape Main <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">. Utterly. Epic.

  • Newbie Melody <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, one of the most iconic and loved songs in the history of the game.
  • Harmony <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> Harmony its waltz rhythm and seamless blend of a major and minor section, each featuring different instruments, is among the most nostalgic pieces, to the point that the majority of the YouTube comments are nostalgic about the game's beginnings.
tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> is iconic to the point of its catchiness and memorability being the subject of Memetic Mutation. Runescape 3's reworked version <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> isn't terrible as well.
  • Runescape's MIDI power! <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> is evident in "Route Of The Problem" which is the second track in a series of amazing tracks, all based on the same theme. The first is "Alternative Root <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">" and the third track is "The Route of All Evil <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">."
  • Temple Desecrated <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> one of the most memorable songs in the game. It plays when you go down the Balance Elemental in While Guthix Sleeps.
Attack 2 <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> plays when you fight Elvarg at the end of the Dragon Slayer quest. This is the song you should be singing while fighting the final boss of f2p.
Other excellent tracks include Battle of Souls, which plays when you battle Nomad in Nomad's Requiem; The Sound of Guthix (plays when you go to the Stone of Jas (also WGS)); Face Off plays during the fight against Zanik in The Chosen Commander; But We Can Fight plays at the Wham Line of The Chosen Commander and finally The Void Stares Back is played when you battle the Pest Queen.
tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> takes Temple Desecrated to the next level.
Another cutscene from The Chosen Commander. This is the scene after Zanik defeats Bandos in the caverns. The music makes things even more warm and uplifting. <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">
  • Christmas Caverns <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">. It is a Christmas tune that has the potential to achieve the same quality as the majority of modern Christmas songs.
"The "Deathcon II" quest of Halloween 2011 provides "DCII Mash-up (Infinity Mix)" <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, an amazing techno track created by the skilled spider DJ Infinity who was previously known as Minstrel Web. As a remix, it's actually said to be a resemblance to two other excellent tracks, "Zaros Stirs" <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> and "Zaros Zeitgeist" <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">.
Upir Likhyi <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> has the most powerful boss theme you'll hear.
"One Piercing Note" The quest revolves around music and sound and is the first to be entirely voice-acted. When you first walk up to the abbey, you hear Valerio the troubadour singing an amazing tune. When you walk into the abbey, you will learn that they are practicing music in their worship. Their choir sings about St. Elspeth, and is also quite impressive. As you continue the quest, you'll travel between Valerio and the abbey a few times, and the music will change in accordance with. At the climax of the quest, one more new track begins to play, "Citharede Requiem". It alternates between the choir singing their song about St. Elspeth, and Valerio singing outside about the woman whose death you've been investigating. These two songs provide an excellent backdrop to follow the murderer through the abbey.
tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, a fine example of a good use of heavy percussions.
  • Wending Through the Willows <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> is a gorgeous reward for completing the quest.
They've even begun updating old tracks! The tracks "Tears of Guthix" and The Power of Tears <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> have been updated as well as the Tears of Guthix D&D rework.
    • Blue Wizards <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, The Harmony of the Runes <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, the revamped Vision <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, and Bloody Foundation <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, which are all part of the two quests introducing the Signature Hero Ariane.
Memories of Guthix <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> from The World Wakes.
  • The updated Pest Control <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> music perfectly captures the frantic nature and the ferocity of the battle against the invasion of aliens.
Nightmare at the Cradle <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> is an exciting piece that is used in the quick Hold the Line segment of Fate of the Gods.
  • Scape Summon <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, a variation on the Runescape theme, was released along with the Summoning skill in 2008. The track has a primal energy to it that perfectly fits the concept of summoning that is at the heart of.
Book of a Thousand Songs <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">. It's difficult to forget your previous adventures in Gielinor when you listen to this song.
From The World wakesup, Boulder, Brighter <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, and End Song <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> are the indications of the end and beginning an Age.
The three songs are Elven Sunrise <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, Elven Sunlight <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, and Elven Sunset <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, unlocked in Prifddinas. Elven Mother <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> plays in Seren's chambers. Elven Elite <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> is found in the Max Guild and can be considered the closest Runescape has to the music of the endgame.
    • Tuska, Electric Storm, Broken Land, Seed of Hope, and Lost Souls, from the Tuska world event.
From Hero's Welcome, Abomination <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, a fast-paced battle theme that is played during the final battle with Tarshak in his One-Winged Angel form.
Beastmaster Durzag's <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> theme is filled with exciting, intense beats. It will make you feel as if you're fighting monsters in the arena. He's not the Beatmaster Durzag.
  • Heart of Gielinor (aka God Wars Dungeon 2) features four boss themes that all match their backgrounds Dragon Rider, the theme of Vindicta's game src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.

/p> GIF" style="max-width size: 450px ;">, Twin Furies' theme Song of the FuriesHelwyr?'s theme is Helwyr's Hymn

    and finally Gregorovic's theme Gregorovic

. The latter is notable for its heavy modern dubstep elements. https://apisanet.com/ Later we get Anima

a majestic theme for Telosthe Warden.
  • Whatever you may think of it Sliske's Endgame featured some incredible music. Champions of Sliske is one of the most listened to tracks.
    . A three-way mashup of Battered Soul
    RunEscape!
    and 'Gregorovic?' YES PLEASE.

Everyday!
single
track
from
the
Shattered
Worlds.
All of them portray their location - a chaotic mangled mess of different parts of Runescape - perfectly, by lifting elements of lots of various tracks from the game. Of particular note is the first one, Shattered Worlds I. While it might not have the same cohesion of the other ones, the way it implements and twists some of the most famous tracks from the game creates a very unique feel.

"Angel of Death" - "Angel of Death (Prelude)," and "Angel of Death".
are epic One Woman Wails that set the mood for the hard mode version of the fight with Nex.

  • Webbed Feat
the theme for Araxxor's boss fightis perfect for a battle against a Giant Spider by combining epic percussion beats with a creepy mix of other sounds.

Chaos of Corruption
is a short track of discordant noise that plays during the part of the battle with Seiryu the Azure Serpent where the player races to destroy the crystals controlling him before the corruption restores them. These terrifying sounds of evil will definitely get your adrenaline going for this crucial part of the battle.

  • Kneel before Your God
encapsulates the tragedy of what happens when it plays during Desperate Measures. Which is, of course, Spoilers.
  • The Shadow Colossus
the theme of Rakshais an epic song combining electric guitarOminous Latin Chantingand more to get you in the mood for a challenging boss fight.

Zuk's theme "The The Glory of Combat"
combines the electric guitar, bass riff and tribal drum beat with the aesthetic of the TzHaar? chanting in support of their leader and ultimate warrior - TzKal?-Zuk. And when the final Elder God Wars trailer
was released, this was what scored it. Make no mistake, when Jagex wants to announce something big - they go all in on it.

The majority of EGWD bosses have fantastic boss music. The Cursed Warrior has Kerapac. Kerapac has The Cursed Warrior

befitting the leader of Dragonkintrapped in time.
  • The Arch-Glacor is also known as Arch-Nemesis.
reminiscent of a choir, complete with wind chime like effects.
  • Croesus has The Graveyard
which turns the boss from an RPG soundtrack to a horror soundtrackfilling the player with that sense of dread as the lone piano plays the eerie tuneencapsulating your fight with the immortal fungus.

p>Dungeoneering

/p>

p>Born to do this <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;">, a heroic main theme of Daemonheim. The theme of Shadow-Forger Ihlakhizen <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> is a fresh spin on this.
The track for Luminiscient Icefiend <img src="https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif" style="max-width: 450px;"> begins slow and ominous, but then speeds up to a glorious (read: The Lord of the Rings) peak just before the end.

  • Most of the Dungeoneering tracks suit the mood of the theme you are dunging on. On frozen floors there's some random 'chilling' sounds that show that you're in a frozen zone. The music can be slow as well. Furnished floors make you feel like you're in an armed castle. This is why the music is very fast-paced. On the floors that are occult, things get a bit scary with all the necromancers demons and zombies reanimated. The music is a mix of organs from churches, drums, and ominous incorrehent singing. The ambient sounds inbetween battles sound freaky too, as if the place was haunted. In the Warped floors, the music gets heavy, twisted, random and fascinating, which is in line with the idea of being too close to the great power is bending the guard dogs', rats' and brutes bodies.
    Old School

    /p>

p>- The upbeat Pick & Shovelplays in the Motherlode Mine.

    • Coil, a sorrowful, daunting piece that accompanies Zulrah's boss fight.
    • Scorpia Dances, a slow, menacing organ theme for when you meet the giant scorpion under the Wilderness.
Kourend the Magnificent, the powerful, imposing theme of Great Kourend.
"Fire in the Deep", the theme of the Great Olm, combines the themes of the warped floors with a tense piano and pipe organ.
The Monkey Badness, a fittingly epic taleplays during the final battle against Glough in Monkey Madness 2.
A Thorn in my Sidemakes the Farming Guild soundtrack into a surprisingly intense boss theme for the fight with the Hespori.
A Kingdom Divided offers us two great boss themes The first is the slow, but intimidating Judgement in the Depthsfor the Judge of Yama, and The Part Where You Die, the frantic, desperate-sounding theme for the fight against Xamphur.
    • Inferno is the most difficult PVM challenge in the game.is a truly epic melodic death metal-esque track. It was even remixed in Runescape 3 as "The Glory of Combat".
    • A Forgotten Religion, the powerful and mysterious theme of the Forthos Dungeon, and Sarachnis, the fast-paced theme of the gigantic mother spider.
Temporary Storm, the surprisingly jaunty theme for Tempoross.
