p>Minecraft YouTuber? Technoblade has passed away at the age of 23 following a year-long battle against cancer, his family announced Friday.

p>In a YouTube video entitled "so long nerds," the content creator's father shared a message from his son with his subscribers.

p>"Hello everyone, Technoblade here," the message began. "If you're watching this. I am dead."

p>Technoblade who kept his identity a secret, revealed his real name as Alex in the video. Technoblade thanked his fans for their support, and even bought merchandise and channel memberships and joked that his siblings were "going to college."

p>"If I had another hundred years to live I'm pretty sure I'd choose to be Technoblade again every single time since those were the happiest years of my life. I hope you enjoyed my writing, and that you found it funny. I wish you all the best in your life and a prosperous one.

p>Technoblade has accumulated more than 11 million YouTube subscribers and 3.7million Twitter followers in less than a decade. He has shared his love for Minecraft, which allows users to create virtual worlds out of blocks and create their own stories. In August 2021, he made it public by telling his followers that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He announced the news via a video of him playing Minecraft.

p>According to his father, Technoblade wrote his final words around eight hours before he died. Technoblade's father, who was still in tears, said that his son was "the most wonderful child" anyone could ever wish for. He added: "I miss Technoblade."

p>The video, which has been viewed more than 19 million times, concluded with a statement from Technoblade's family, which read: "This past year had several rough times for our son, who was fighting cancer of the stage four. But he never complained and continued to use his famously shrewd mind to fight what he knew were almost impossible odds. My son's determination in this situation was a shining example to all of us who had the opportunity to share it with. We are grateful that you shared his journey with us, while he worked hard to do the work he loved for his beloved fans.

p>Sarcoma Foundation of America sent a statement to CNN paying tribute to Technoblade and offering condolences to his family.

p>Brandi Felser is the charity's CEO. This enabled SFA to grant research grants in Technoblade's name. These efforts have left the legacy that will be passed on to future generations.

p>Felser said that Technoblade will be honored by the organization's Courage Award, an annual award that is given to those who inspire others "to bring hope and a better future for the community of sarcoma patients" in the coming year.
