p>YouTube and Minecraft legend Stampy Cat will deliver a lecture to 2,000 Dundee schoolchildren.

p>Stampy - whose real name is Joseph Garrett - will give the Royal Society of Edinburgh's Christmas Lecture at the city's Caird Hall on Monday.

/p>

p>His YouTube channel has more than 6.7 million subscribers.

/p>

p>The lecture next Thursday will be available only on BBC iPlayer.

/p>

p>BBC Scotland reported that Minecraft fans will get to see Stampy show how he makes his videos during a discussion with Chris van der Kuyl, Dundee games entrepreneur.

/p>

p>Stampy will talk through the process of making his Christmas special and give viewers an insight into his life and a career which has seen him become one of the world's most popular YouTubers?.

/p>

p>Van der Kuyl stated that Stampy was the "epitome digital native of the 21st century" who would inspire viewers regardless of age.

/p>

p>"Stampy is an inspiration to an entire generation of young people who clearly see that their future careers will depend on a unique blend of talent as well as creativity, technical and design skills that can be mastered by anyone," he added.
