<p>Minecraft star Stampy Cat to deliver RSE Christmas message </p> <p>27 November 2015 </p> <p>YouTube and Minecraft legend Stampy Cat is to deliver an educational program before 2,000 schoolchildren in Dundee. https://boasted.co/ </p> <p>Stampy, whose real name was Joseph Garrett, will deliver the Royal Society of Edinburgh's Christmas Lecture in Caird Hall on Monday. </p> <p>The creator of the "Let's Play" videos for Minecraft and other games has more than 6.7m viewers on his YouTube channel. </p> <p>The lecture next Thursday will only be available on BBC iPlayer. </p> <p>BBC Scotland reported that Minecraft fans will have the opportunity to watch Stampy demonstrate how he creates his videos in a session with Chris van der Kuyl, Dundee games entrepreneur. </p> <p>Stampy will go over the process of making his Christmas special, while giving viewers an insight into his life and a career that has seen him become one of the most popular YouTubers. </p> <p>Van der Kuyl said that Stampy was the "epitome digital native of the 21st century" who would inspire viewers regardless of age. </p> <p>"Stampy is an inspiration to an entire new generation of youngsters who can clearly see that future careers will depend on a unique blend of talent as well as creativity, technical and design abilities that can be utilized by everyone," he added. </p> <p>The RSE lecture will be presented as part of BBC Make it Digital, an initiative to encourage digital creativity among young people. </p> <p>Is this the most famous cat? </p> <p>8 November 2015 </p> <p>Stampy Cat on Youtube </p> <p>Royal Society of Edinburgh </p>
