<p>Minecraft star Stampy Cat to deliver RSE Christmas lecture </p> <p>27 November 2015 </p> <p>YouTube and Minecraft legend Stampy Cat is to deliver an educational program before 2,000 schoolchildren in Dundee. </p> <p>Stampy - whose real name is Joseph Garrett - will give the Royal Society of Edinburgh's Christmas lecture in the city's Caird Hall on Monday. </p> <p>The creator of the "Let's Play" videos for Minecraft and other games has more than 6.7m viewers on his YouTube channel. </p> <p>The lecture will air exclusively on BBC iPlayer next Thursday. https://minecraft-server-list.info/ </p> <p>BBC Scotland said Minecraft fans would, for the first time, be able to watch Stampy demonstrate how he makes his videos in a discussion with Dundee games entrepreneur Chris van der Kuyl. </p> <p>Stampy will go over the making of his Christmas special, while giving viewers an insight into his life and a career that has led him to become one of the world's most viewed YouTubers. </p> <p>Mr. van der Kuyl said Stampy was the "epitome of the 21st Century digital native" who could inspire audiences regardless of their age. </p> <p>"Stampy is an inspirational persona for a whole new generation who can clearly see how their future careers will be based on a unique blend of talents, creativity , and technical skills that can all be mastered," he said. </p> <p>The RSE lecture will be held as part of BBC Make it Digital, an initiative to encourage digital creativity among young people. </p> <p>Is this the most famous cat? </p> <p>8 November 2015 </p> <p>Stampy Cat on YouTube </p> <p>Royal Society of Edinburgh </p>
